Incline chest press (lying)

Lying incline chest press for upper chest.

Setup

  • Set the bench to a slight incline and lie flat.

  • Keep shoulder blades together and down, chest up.

  • Grip the handles, elbows at about 45° to the body.

  • Core tight, feet flat on the floor.

  • Wrists straight above the elbows.

Execution

  • Push the handles up and forward until arms are almost straight.

  • Focus on the upper chest, keeping shoulder blades down.

  • Hold briefly at the top and squeeze your upper chest.

  • Slowly return to the start until you feel a good stretch.

  • Breathing: Exhale when pushing, inhale when returning.
