Cable pull-overs with rope

Cable pull-overs with rope

Isolated lat pulldown with almost straight arms.

Setup

  • Set cable column to the highest position, attach rope.

  • Step back, push hips back slightly – stable stance.

  • Grip rope with neutral grip, arms almost straight, elbows slightly bent.

  • Lift chest, pull shoulder blades back and down.

  • Core tight, neutral back – no arching.

Execution

  • Pull the rope down in a semicircular path. Target: towards hips/upper thighs.

  • Keep arms almost straight. Movement comes from shoulder joint and lat, not biceps.

  • Squeeze lat maximally at the end position, keeping shoulder blades down.

  • Return rope slowly and under control, extending arms to stretch the lat.

  • Breathing: Exhale on the way down, inhale on the way up.
